Update 9/4/18: Love this duvet and feel like I could use more weight, I ordered a second duvet in less than two weeks. The new one is just as great quality but arrived a different shade of gray so I've posted a photo so you can see the difference (and that the squares are 6 inches as advertised). The first was a neutral to slightly warm mid-grey, the second a gray with a stronger blue cast (sorry I couldn't reproduce the exact colors but you can see the difference). Luckily I use them on top of each other but if I wanted to use them side by side I would be disappointed. I mention this because if you use them side by side I recommend buying both at the same time as the fabric can be of different dyes. a lot of. I like the extra weight and don't find 30 pounds too heavy for me, but it definitely makes it warmer, so I have to leave the fan on or turn off the thermostat to be comfortable in the summer. It will be great for winter! Original Review: I've always loved the feeling of heavy blankets and quilts being thrown over me, but it's too hot. do it in summer I was pleased to find that the weighted blanket is actually a 'thing' and I can use it in the summer without overheating! After looking at many weighted blankets I settled on this one because of the great reviews for quality, price and because it had glass beads instead of plastic for the weight. I originally wanted a 20 pound blanket but due to the price difference and not even knowing if I would like it and with the thought that I might add another blanket for extra weight in the future I have I settled on 48"x72"15 pounds. It feels heavy when you hold it in your hands, but it's not at all comfortable to sleep under. In fact, I think I sleep a lot better since I often sleep wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep and that hasn't happened since I started using this blanket about a week ago.The blanket itself is super soft cotton and the beads make no noise at all.The weight seems evenly distributed and the quality is excellent it comes in a very pretty box which would be a great presentation if you were giving this blanket as a gift I am seeing de at the moment Only downside is that it needs to be dry cleaned, but since I use it over a bed sheet that shouldn't be a problem. Overall, this blanket was one of the best purchases I've ever made!
