The quality of the styrofoam itself is the same as the local store but I had to do some research beforehand, bought it as a gift for someone but turns out local craft stores hold up stock the same materials for about 40% less per square foot, and they also stock them in large sheets (24" / 60") for larger projects. I think this is a good option if your local store doesn't have the thickness you need. Other than that, I can't think of a reason to pay more for smaller sheets and wait a few days to get them. it just isn't like that anymore.
