I've never used a straight razor before and decided to try it. I was drawn to the fact that this design uses a standard blade that is broken in half, making sharpening unnecessary. I knew there would be a learning curve, but I wasn't prepared for the constant cuts and bleeding. The problem now is probably my age. I'm ninety and probably don't have the dexterity and strength of my hands. It is also interesting that in most of the usage photos, the third party (mostly young women) shaves while the recipient just sits. I would be willing to try this, however. Anyway, I'm afraid the "Safety Razor" should remain my pick, but I still like your broken blade idea.
