Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's hard to get yourself to work, but it's worth it

Okay. I have ordered two refurbished HP EliteDesk 800 G2 computers from Revain. I have ordered i7-6700T and i5-6500T. Starting with i5. Disk not found. I opened it because I've worked on hundreds of the same computers (Dell and HP). It has a SATA SSD. I've tried to make sure the SATA ribbon cable is properly connected to the drive and the motherboard. In doing so, I snapped the plastic tab onto the motherboard's cable slot. I can't get the part anywhere! Then I tried it with i7. Same problem. The hard drive is not recognized. I opened it and saw an OEM SATA drive. Tried to make sure the cord was plugged in and flipped that stupid little piece of plastic over again. I've never had a single breakdown out of the thousands of cars I've repaired while running my business. That day I broke two! Not only that, but the ribbon cable came out of the SATA end at the same time. But I have a replacement for her. I decided to put in an M.2 NVME drive instead of a SATA SSD. I used my O&O imaging software to extract Windows 10 Pro from a SATA SSD. I couldn't transfer it to an M.2 NVME drive. I noticed that the firmware on the motherboard is from 2016. I downloaded and installed the BIOS 12/2020 firmware and installed it from a flash drive via the BIOS utility. I was now able to create an M.2 NVME image on my computer using the image I got from the SATA SSD. I installed and after that everything went fine! The car is very fast. Overall I am very satisfied with this. I'll keep the i7 although I had to provide an M.2 NVME SSD for it to work, but the i5 will definitely make a comeback. I love Revain's return policy. I've burned myself in one form or another every time I've bought anything refurbished. (Actually you only buy someone else's problem.) From now on I only buy NEW. If you know what you're doing, it's probably worth it. almost identical to the Dell Optiplex 3070 mini. I found that I accidentally went to the Dell website to find the Support Assist software and not the HP website. LAUGH OUT LOUD
