Review on Sony SLVD560P DVD VCR Combo by Danny Badasz

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Is that Sony? suitable for DVD-VCR combos

The device itself technically works, but I'm not very impressed. The user interface is terrible in its complexity, which is unusual for Sony products. You have to press the buttons on the remote too hard for them to actually respond, which is half the problem. The manual is too succinct, missing pages for settings that are probably quite common, so you'll have to guess instead. Sony WEGA 24" TV. (I bought this set to match my TV.) Sony tech support was far from helpful, acknowledging that they understood my picture quality was a negative "fault" on their part. In the end I narrowed the problem down to a cheap coaxial cable that Sony supplied, but I didn't have a composite cable to replace because Sony chose not to supply it even though they are different VCRs. Maybe if there is SLVD570P, it will be better. If not then I wouldn't waste your time.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared
