At first I wasn't sure if I should buy it with only 7 reviews and 5 stars, but I took a chance after returning the Yi outdoor camera because it wanted $66. per year for 24-hour recording. Now I have set up PTZ for a few days. The instructions for the camera show you how to set it up on your phone, but that's about it. You have to go to their website for more information and none of it is too clear. Now that I've set it up I love it BUT there are a few things I wish I knew before I bought it. I almost returned it.1. If you only have a MAC computer, you're out of luck, you'll need to have a Windows computer to set everything up. Luckily, to do this, my MAC had Windows installed and then installed programs. Once I did that, it all started to add up.2. Setting up email alerts wasn't too easy, I found a competitor's guide that explained it much better.3. I still can't figure out how to set up an FTP server.4. First the lens fogged up, which took several hours to eliminate. Since then it's been good and clear5. Night vision is ok 6. After playing around with the phone app I figured out how to focus and zoom. There was nothing about it in the instructions. At first I thought it was a problem with the camera because everything was blurry.7. WiFi, connection quality without problems, I have an ORBI system and it picks up without problems. Range is good, I placed the camera in a tree across the driveway about 30ft from the garage and about 60-70ft from the hub. In general, the camera is well built, metal body. Now that I understand it, I like it a lot. I hope this review helps you if you are interested in this camera. I am changing my rating from four to three stars. I contacted support and got nothing from them. I'm very disappointed when it worked, it was great. Many thanks to Revain customer service who also tried and offered to return it.
