Review on ACECHUM Hand-Operated Interactive Induction Helicopter by Tony Guernsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Unique Affordable Creative Toy! Not perfect, but still fun.

Chose 'non urgent delivery' and still got it delivered to rural Pennsylvania in 4 days and if I hadn't ordered the day before Thanksgiving it would have been 2 days. Attractive box, fun to unpack, arrived in perfect condition, contents: shiny blue drone, USB charging cable, user manual. Design/Installation: The drone is light enough for a toddler to easily hold and contains no components outside the cage that a child could accidentally break. Also, the cage is very flexible (as shown in the picture) so it absorbs shocks well with no visible damage after 20 indoor tests. The USB charging cable doesn't have an adapter (probably because it says not to use AC outlets), but the USB cable easily plugs into a laptop or adapter from any cell phone or other USB charger you have. The charger glows red while charging and turns off when charging is complete. Charging time 20 minutes out of the box. It says you should charge it before first use when the battery is low and it starts flashing, and turn it off before charging. Gaming: The power button below was held down to turn on/off, which is why it doesn't work. to accidentally crash, then the bright green LED in the center will illuminate for low speed, another press will turn the LED blue for higher speed. A simple throw in the air is successful 100% of the time. It's predictably noisy, so you probably won't be able to concentrate on your work when it's running in the background, but it seems safe enough to play with independently elsewhere once the child has finished stacking toys. they have in their mouth. However, to charge it has to be plugged in after 8 minutes of flight, which seems longer than it looks, with breaks in between and fun to hunt. When left alone in a small office with lots of obstacles (boxes, chairs, ceiling fan) he would fly in many directions, soaring and falling from 2 to 6 feet, stopping at obstacles to turn around, doing some fun 360 degrees -Spins and so on It seemed like it could go on as long as I left him. However, there are also some flights where it's hanging out of reach in the corner of a room, on the floor or even on the ceiling (but it will eventually turn off and down), but bad flights seem to be related to it not resets/aligns properly after an accident or uneven throw to begin flying. It was supposed to remain accessible from the outside, but if it didn't have landmarks, then from the outside I wouldn't be surprised if it soared into the sky and I had to chase it all over the area (maybe even the street in front of the shop). moving car) but I have NOT tested it outdoors yet and other reviews have videos of kids enjoying it outdoors. Also, this thing only has 3 cameras, so it usually responds to a hand gesture from the side, but sometimes it misses, although I think it can be improved by adding more cameras/sensors. When it's in range it's easy to grab and then just flip it upside down and back to turn off the propellers and often it will stop or break on its own and you can pick it up and try again. However there was one of 20 holds where even my adult finger was easily bitten by one of the plastic propellers that didn't even leave a mark hit me the most and that was the only reason it could upset a small child but maybe that would be it cage one more bar on the bottom at the biggest gap near the seam/sides been nice bottom line: i'm still satisfied as i didn't always expect a flawless flight for such a cheap price. ! After all, this is a toy drone, not a professional drone, and perhaps the fact that it's not always perfect gives the kids a chance to master it and show me how. This is a creative, fun, exciting, modern toy. There are improvements, but it's worth it if you think the person you're gifting it to loves trying new things, loves to run, doesn't get frustrated when it doesn't work well every time, and is willing to keep doing it to try. It would also be very easy to repackage this box and give it to another child as a new gift if yours wasn't a hit.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
