We are litter raising our cat and needed a litter that would not ruin our toilet or septic tank while still being attractive to my cat. In the past we have used corn based granular litter and wood based litter. The corn smelled horribly and the wood was just dirty. My hopes were low. But I was wrong and thank you very much. This litter doesn't really have much smell. Yes, sometimes a few grains fly out of the shell, but definitely less than clay putty and it's very easy to clean. Clumps well too. Flushing it out every time the cat went to the toilet was too much for our lines, it dissolved fairly quickly and didn't harm our septic system. It's too hard to wash off with all that piss and poo stuck together. However, when our cat was potty training, the balls often ended up in the toilet bowl and this amount quickly dissipated and was easily flushed.
