Review on Dell 15 7590 with Intel Core i7 9750H Processor and a Bright 400 Nits Display by Micha ochowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

The laptop was bought for full-fledged work and a little play. I haven't tried the games yet, but as for work - the coolest windows laptop, a macbook from the world of windows. Excellent build quality, nothing staggers, no backlash, opens with two hands - for me it's more a plus than a minus. I bought in a complete set with i7 + 16GB + FullHD. All noted shortcomings are features of this model. I took a car that fully meets my requirements. A few words about design. The laptop does not look hipster, and in a coffee shop you will not be noticed. The design, on the contrary, is strict and stingy. But this is the essence of this device - just work. After the purchase, I recommend demolishing all partitions from the hard drive and installing Windows 10 from scratch. All necessary drivers will be installed automatically. This does not void the warranty. The manufacturer's website has an excellent DellSupportAssist utility. It will automatically detect the laptop model and show which drivers additionally need to be installed from the manufacturer. The 7590 models seem to fix the throttle whine problem. My copy does not have this problem.

Pros
  • 1. I'm not a designer, 4k doesn't make sense for me on 15.6. Thanks to the FullHD matrix, and not 4k, the laptop has a record autonomy. It is worth noting that the models with the i7 processor are equipped with ONLY a 6-cell battery (97 W). And models with i5 have an option: 3 cells (57 W) or 6 cells (97 W). Therefore, for those who care about autonomy and the i5 processor is enough, you will need to pay attention to which battery is installed. In this sense, it's easier to take i7 and not think - in our retail they don't write such detailed information. As a result, the battery life is around 14.5 hours. More than enough for one day. 2. Full HD matrix. There is an opinion on the Internet that the FullHD matrix in 13.3 models is superior to that of apple and is the best on the market. And in the older model 15.6, it is supposedly very mediocre. I can’t say anything - I’m completely satisfied, no complaints. Color rendition and various shades are absolutely normal, but I repeat, I am not a designer and this is not so important to me. 3. Intel Core i7-9750H processor - 9 generation, 6 real cores, 12 threads. In the case of a laptop, this power is enough for the eyes. I can’t remember now whether I heard the cooling system or not, it is constantly quiet. I will add a review later when I launch something heavy.
Cons
  • 4. Hard disk 512GB SSD. Again, there is a pitfall with a hard drive. Dell completes various batches of these laptops with hard drives from different manufacturers: Samsung, Toshiba, Hynix. It was Hynix that came across to me, it is impossible to track this information at the time of purchase. There are comparisons on the Internet that the differences in speed between Hynix and Samsung can reach 2 times in favor of Samsung. The speed suits me, later I think to replace the SSD with a Samsung one. 5. Bulky charger.
