Review on Acer Monitor FreeSync Premium ZeroFrame 27", 1920X1080, Wide Screen, Curved, ‎UM.HE3AA.P02 by Nathan Jarvis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just received in my review

So far everything works and has arrived well. I confess, at first glance I wasn't sure if it was curved. I have a Samsung Curve and its curve is a bit more curved, ok let's get to the actual test. NOT DOA - phew (my box had serious dents in several places from what appeared to be a sharp metal corner), no dead pixels either. . I'm winning this moment. Assembly was a breeze, it pulled out and slid right into the stand with a screw (decent quality). Both the monitor and mount are lightweight, with the screen easily adjustable by pivoting back and forth on the base. The button on the back (stick) is easy to use. I've seen comments about it being finicky but to be honest my Samsung has a similar selection bar so I haven't found any problems. This works with G-Sync or FreeSync - just so you all know - Nvidia came out in January 2019 and made more of its monitors universal. Once I got the Nvidia control panel working (had to update the GPU drivers before Win10 would see it), it took a few clicks to get the performance to work at 120Hz and I was done. If you want 144hz all you have to do is right click on your desktop background - go to display - select monitor - advanced settings - set update to 144hz. Haven't played with the color setting yet, I've only had the monitor for about 3 days and this was the last item I needed before putting my computer back together. I plan to play with the colors later and will check back in a few months. I didn't put games on it via dialer due to an issue with the mobo m.2 drive (this is another test) but I ran some CPU benchmark tests and after the refresh rate was fixed I was fluctuating between 189- 320 frames per second with high details. If you're using G-Sync you lose frames per second to prevent tearing - be aware of that. I'll give 5 stars if she rates you, or take one later if something happens - 4 stars is the highest I'll give at this point. If you're trying to decide on a size or this, I can say I've been there. 24 inches is enough for me. Allows me room to expand if I want, plenty of space for mount/keyboard and a desk tower. Great money hit - I'll let you know.
