Media could not be loaded. Our friend is a Yeti dealer and he's a brand name jerk. You know, Apple is, Michael Kors is, BMW - honestly, he's an idiot. To be honest I don't really understand why we are friends. It may be necessary to re-evaluate this situation now that I think about it. If anything, he boasted that there wasn't another cooling cup that worked as well as the Yeti. I thought to myself that another manufacturer must have come up with something similar and at a much lower price. He sells the Yeti for $40 and the RTIC costs less than half that amount. So I decided to order a few and try them out. I compared them and found this: 1. The Yeti holds about 1/2 ounce more water if you fill it all the way to the top, which you never do because the lid makes a disastrous mess. As for temperature, both seem to be accurate in 30 minutes with 16 ounces of room temperature tap water and ice. The Yeti could have been 2/10 degrees colder, but my ice cubes might not have been as big, the Yeti might have been last to fill with ice. Who knows. Mistakes have been made. Even so, 2/10 degrees is imperceptible to most people. I didn't do the hot test because honestly you don't drink coffee in those things bro. I use Tervis for hot stuff but am looking for an alternative. Do you know any?3. Both lids felt very secure and both cups appear to be well made. You can buy two RTICs from Revain for my buddy who sells a Yeti in his shop. Yes. Unless some Dingleberry takes a close look at your mug, they'll never know it's not a brand name. I swapped them out for the people at the party and nobody noticed the difference. My ex-boyfriend is now very upset that I burst his bubble, but that's capitalism, folks.
