Firstly I'm 5ft 2in, 150-155#, wear 10P or medium in all. According to the manufacturer's size chart, a medium size would fit. But after reading some of the reviews I decided to go up a size. I actually ordered size XL because I wanted more length. Obviously the XL dress was a bit loose but it didn't look huge and actually looked nice. It is made of thicker polyester fleece/sweatshirt material, smooth on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It was smooth and not a single part was sticking. In terms of length, even the XL size wasn't long enough to be a dress for my short build. It was longer than the M would have been, but the skirt was still too short and the leaves were too long. It looked good with my arms at my sides, Jenn about 2-3 inches above my knees. But when I raise my arms above my head, the hem lifts significantly and I risk exposing myself underneath. The skirt also looked stricter. On the model it narrows well or even slightly, but on mine it really expands. The faux tulip hem sits closer to mid-torso than just above one leg. I gave the dress to a friend because I didn't want to shorten the sleeves. She is slightly taller and taller than me. She liked it and said the material is nice and well made. I have to agree. In my opinion, the dress definitely resembles a tunic more than a dress. Unless you like short dresses (I did that 10 years ago π). Also, I recommend ordering your normal size or one size larger.
