Might be better on intake manifolds

Mounting on it isn't the best preparation for measuring and cutting. Once the installation issues were resolved, they worked great.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Upgrades

Good, but needs trimming and adjustment.

Works well. I had to cut off about 3/8 inch on the driver's side and some radiator pipes. But since their production was such an option, this is understandable. My only complaint was the hole near the carb that didn't come with a plug.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • There are nuances

Away with bad air, with good air.

The left tube seemed a bit too long for my Type 1, but it's better than being too short. I cut off about an inch and now it fits like a glove (YMMV) on the air intake and mini-pleat. The right side was fine. Heat risers are supplied with the kit and also need to be cut to length. Your setup is BEAR, which is good since you need an airtight seal. Still, despite all the torment, it's better than my old cracked manifold.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Unfashionable

The part looked great, but the radiator tubes didn't match.

The part looked great but the radiator pipes didn't match the exhaust flanges on my muffler at all. I had to cut the ends, twist and weld them back together. A 1" extension had to be welded to the left radiator pipe to reach the muffler. In my experience, aftermarket VW air-cooled units are never a good fit. It's not a bad manifold if you don't use heat risers and blocking plates, but be prepared to do some fine tuning to make it fit if you want the risers on it.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Reliability

It works, but be prepared to change it.

I agree with other comments, be prepared to make changes for your engine. I had to cut off the bottom "bracket" for the gap, cut off both ends of the air intake, open the holes for the heat pipes with a file (quite wide) and cut the heat pipes off. I was going to fit my 34 pic carburetor and it doesn't clean my alternator. Now I have to install a gasket. Maybe instead of cutting both intake manifolds I should have cut the left one so the carb was farther from the alternator. In general, try to…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Not suitable for intake manifold and plug and play parts

Product hardware quality is good, no complaints. fit problem. If you don't have the skills to cut and bend pipe, you're going to have trouble. The (large) fuel lines are long and need to be trimmed to fit standard two port manifolds. It's not too difficult. The problem is the radiator pipes, which (in the kit I got anyway) are not only too long, but also not bent enough to fit into the exhaust system outlets. I solved this by heating the tubes and bending them into position. Once installed this

Pros
  • High support and durability ratings from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
