Strings are not functional

My husband bought this for our 4yo son who loves to be creative making music, more of noises for his age, but we wanted to support him. So we got him this, everything elses but the strings are not functional. How does a toddler enjoy the act of playing a guitar without strumming it? We could have gotten him a piano instead if we are just looking buttons for him to press. Not recommended to buy online, if you find one in stores, make sure everything is functional, saves yourself from the trouble

Pros
  • Perfect size for our toddler. Even great to take in the car!
Cons
  • The guitar may be too large or heavy for some 2+ year olds to hold comfortably

Little One Loves It! Bright - Colorful - Fun!

Battat – Toy Guitar for Toddlers, Kids, Children – Play Guitar with Songbook – Acoustic, Electric, and SongThree playing modes - Play along with songs, electric, and acoustic! There are seven prerecorded songs and a song book so your little one can play along. My little one is only 16 months old but her daddy plays guitar and now she can "play" with him! She loves to pluck the strings and make music! She is a bit too young to really be able to use most of the features of the guitar. But with…

Pros
  • Strong, solid, LOUD and very fun for kids to play with. Hope you like The Farmer In The Dell....
Cons
  • Cute concept but none of the strings work on this little guitar.

Such a hit!: my feedback

This is probably my twins' favorite toy (luckily they are good at sharing!). It has real-like guitar features and they love to strum, strum, strum! The parents like that the songs aren't super annoying and even I enjoy playing with it. It's a fun, classic toy that is well made and has brought lots of joy to our family. For reference, I have twin 3 year olds and this is a perfect size (perhaps a tad too big, but that means there is room to grow).

Pros
  • 24 months - 12 years
Cons
  • The guitar may not offer enough educational or developmental benefits to justify its cost

Built like a tank and fun for 1 year olds too!

My 1 year old granddaughter loves an avocado guitar she has at home that plays music when she presses buttons. I ordered this so she would have a guitar to play with at our house. She loves it! She cannot read the songbook, of course, but she hits the keys, and dances and sings with the music. She loves pushing the buttons and keeps running back to the guitar to pull the strings or hit the whammy bar. It is built extremely rugged, with thick plastic and tight seams. All corners are smooth and…

Pros
  • 8 x 2.6 x 16.5 inches
Cons
  • The toy may not work properly or be prone to malfunctions, leading to frustration for both children and parents

Not worth it on my review.

Came unpackaged so not giftable, volume knob doesn't go past first level, song book did not come even though I called and they were supposed to send it

Pros
  • Bought for my 2 year and he really likes it. He plays with it all the time and loves the song function.
Cons
  • The acoustic mode may not produce a sound as rich or full as a real acoustic guitar

So much fun! in my review

This toy is great! It allows you to do so much more than just pretend and strum. It has many features and is the perfect size. Great to develop fine motor skills, listening, and creativity. Good across a broad age range and can grow with your little one as their skills improve. It has the modes so you can play along with programmed tunes or you can play chords using the fret buttons choosing between acoustic or electric. It even has a whammy bar which is so much fun to play with. The strings…

Pros
  • December 1, 2020
Cons
  • The toy may not hold up well to extended use or rough handling by young children

Wanted to like it, but defective

I received as a gift for my child and the first one was defective (not all strings would work) so i contacted Walmart and they replaced but even replacement was defective with a different string not working.Toy is a great concept but need to get all strings and buttons working and fully function.

Pros
  • Musical Instruments
Cons
  • Children who are already familiar with real guitars may find the toy version to be unsatisfying or lacking in quality

Not the dog guitar: my feedback

Not the same as the dog guitar version that our children have, but a decade later I guess they don't make the same toys. Our nephew still loves this one just as much as our kids loved the dog guitar from this company!

Pros
  • Branford Ltd.
Cons
  • It may be difficult or frustrating for children to learn how to switch between different modes and settings

Perfect for toddlers

Battat makes some super cute baby and toddler toys, and this guitar is no exception! The size is perfect for a 2-3 year old to hold comfortably in there hands. It can play tunes on its own, or you can press the colorful buttons and make your own tune up. There is also a switch where you can switch it from acoustic or electric guitar sounds! It’s sturdy and well made, and the price point is affordable! Super cute and definitely recommend!

Pros
  • Learning & Education
Cons
  • The toy may not provide enough musical variety to keep children engaged for long periods of time

Good first guitar: my feedback

Bought this for my daughter. We had a different toddler fuitar that broke and wouldn't play the correct sounds. This one is so much better. I love that it came with a small song book. Easy to use and understand. I would highly recommend.

Pros
  • Age: This toy guitar is recommended for mini musicians aged 2 years and up.
Cons
  • The batteries required to power the guitar may be an ongoing expense for parents

My 2 year old son approves !

My little one was excited to receive this for Christmas. It’s perfect for his little hands and he loves to dance around with it and act like he’s a rock star lol .

Pros
  • Love love! This tot makes my grandson smile and dance.
Cons
  • The electric mode may be too loud or intense for some children, leading to sensory overload
