These albums are unbeatable in terms of price. I couldn't afford to spend $80 for albums that fit that many photos, so I was very happy to find them. The cover is actually corrugated cardboard - nicely coated on the outside, but clearly cardboard on the inside. The photo shows round rings, but the product itself has D-rings. After inserting the photos, all sides will not fit, so 504 photos will NOT fit even if you have 504 pockets. The pages are super thin and super thin - the paper in the envelopes is thinner than notepad paper, and the envelopes themselves feel like cellophane. Well made system within reason. The case is so cheap it's no wonder it comes in protective cling film. Although they put it on before attaching the binding. Photo pages feel fairly sturdy and photos slide in easily, especially when the plastic is pushed back a bit. I didn't count the number of pages but it seems like a lot. I use these albums primarily to archive prints from digital photos and this is a very inexpensive way to do that.
