It works for my purposes

The cable is of decent quality and works for my purposes. Used this with an old 80mm fan to add active cooling to my Raspberry Pi since it only had passive heatsinks on the RAM and SOC. Lowered the temperature by 15-20 degrees depending on the ambient temperature. Since these cables actually only switch the case fan to 5V operation (which will also be the case at lower speeds), you should be aware that not all case fans run at 5V. You may have to try a few fans to see which run 5V as PC case…

Technically works but not great

Doesn't seem to draw enough current - every fan I've plugged in spins so slowly as if it were off. The USB port I use (2/3, AC adapter, PC, laptop, USB battery, etc.)

Pros
  • Good for many
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Saved my graphics card

So, my graphics card's fan decided to die, some circuit or something (I'm not a techie!). The card was repaired, the fans were adjusted, but it was not possible to connect it to power. Enter this simple little string. Is working!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Lots

It works. Cables and Connections

Working. Just find out about cable length and how it may affect your use. I use it to connect to an externally powered USB HUB extension cable (3ft cable).

Not as pictured - Computers and accessories

The 3 prong end on the one I received does not have heat shrink tubing on the connector so no strain relief for the three small diameter wires. I can fix this myself with 3:1 or 4:1 heatshrink tubing, but I don't have to fix a new product right away. If you're having the same problem, I recommend using glue to keep it from sliding off, as at least one reviewer pointed out. But other than that issue, it seems well done.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home

Awesome USB Fan Connector

Ideal for testing fans or as a cheap personal fan power cord for computer enthusiasts. The cable is only limited to 5V, but that's enough to keep the fans running at around 50%.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • New Competitors Appeared

Costs money! for USB cable

Great product. A bit pricey, I bought 10 of these on AliExpress (lower quality) but they still work for the price of one of these. Still good if you can't wait a month.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good quality. in USB cable

Very good quality cable. Nothing looks like it will fall apart or loosen over time. I used this with my 5v fan and it works. Remember that this cable is intended for 5V fans, not 12V fans typical of computer case fans.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

It works as intended.

I bought this for my sister's candy bar, it's quite old. I plan to upgrade by adding a 120mm case fan to the rear. If you like building PCs, you have a lot at hand. I checked a fan and it was spinning very slowly. Tested 2 others and shot much better than the first one. I assume that not all fans will work with it. I've used Thermaltake and Coolermaster fans with the best results. The Aigo brand did not fare well. Just so everyone knows the fans are running in silent mode, so don't expect high…
