Efficient Drain Spud #4223 by Aprilaire: Superior Quality for Optimal Performance Review

We had to replace this drain on our April humidifier. It fit perfectly and served its purpose. It's a little lighter than the original so I'm guessing it's aftermarket. But compared to the April price of the fork and what we paid for it, this is to be expected. Works for us.

I accidentally snapped the drain boot on the Comfort Maker while removing the hose. I couldn't find a part number anywhere or get help from Comfort Maker. We share with everyone else that this part matches the original Comfort Maker HMICLB17B case exactly.

In my case I didn't need this part. I just assumed the old one was leaking and sealed which meant it would crack if you tried to clean it. That's not true, it just sits in a hole with plastic tabs. In my case the filter falls off when you put the cap back on and some water leaks out during use. I have found that if you open the vent with the new filter before putting the cap on it will hold it in place and prevent it from moving. A worthy alternative to the more expensive Honeywell Whole House humidifier drain. There are 2 small pointed tabs on the side that hold it in place. But the distance between the tongue and the top shelf protrusion is only a little short, less than 1/4 mm. Use a simple file to peel off the thin paper discs until they twist and snap into place.
