This non-powered 3-to-2-wire taillight converter provides a dependable splice-in trailer wiring harness option, if a CURT custom trailer wiring harness is not available for your vehicle. STANDARD OUTPUT. This tail light converter converts the 3-wire vehicle electrical system to standard 2-wire trailer wiring and provides a standard 4-way flat socket to connect the taillights, brake lights and turn signals for towing. COLOR-CODED WIRES. To make installation faster and easier, this trailer wiring converter splices into your vehicle using color-coded wires (3.0 amps signal circuit, 5.0 amps taillight circuit). READY TO INSTALL. This trailer light converter comes ready to install on your vehicle. It includes snap locks for secure connection of the wires, and it requires no heavy-duty flashers or direct battery connection. WEATHER-RESISTANT. To help protect this trailer light converter from the elements, it comes with a rubber dust cover for the 4-pin wiring connector, shielding it from rain, dirt, dust and more when not in use.

Makes LEDs Work

This was an adapter to get these LEDs working by adapting the brake light and tail light. Easy installation, small unit, fairly long cables. Great thank you!

Worked as an original equipment manufacturer on a 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2

Shorted OEM trailer adapter - means you're going nowhere because you can't shift out of park. Found on the 20th day. Replaced it with this one - and used OEM connectors to make it plug and play. Works perfectly. and save over $200 over a Land Rover OEM kit.

Good quality made in USA

Fairly easy to install from the materials provided. This option is much cheaper than the versions with stubs already installed, but it takes a little longer to install. I recommend that you use a test lamp to test your car's wiring before installing it. I would give it 5 stars but the right turn signal was slightly shorter on our 2015 Grand Caravan. Made in the USA!

Cheap, simple, simple solution for trailer lighting

Arrived quickly. The converter was packaged in a sturdy plastic box and included wire splices, double sided tape and instructions. Very easy to install on my 90 Volvo 240DL Van; lasted about 20 minutes. Haven't towed it yet, but checked the connections with a test light, everything works fine. The price is great and seems different from a well-known towing brand. Overall happy with this product.

unreliable

unknown alarm sequence (brake, turn, drive) triggered on left side only 3 wires, one bulb, 2 trailer bulbs. unknown sequence and switching off brings the light back into the operating state. Car headlights or fuses no longer work / blow, there are no problems with ground or frayed wires behind the converter. fortunately passed the trailer test but very concerned that they will not work in the future without being able to verify whether they work or not. It's not Kurt's fault why this archaic 4โ€ฆ
