The Gasket is a replacement for GE 2.5 inch water filters and the gasket measures 3 5/16 inch inner diameter - 3 9/16 inch outer diameter. Replacement O-Ring - Under Sink Water Filter

Lost O-Ring for GXWH04F last trip last year. I have been using this filter housing for 10 years. Bought a set from a box store. There were 3 different o-rings in the kit and only one fits. Found here and you will receive 6 replacement o-rings of the same size. Excellent purchase.

So far so good for water filtration and softening

These o-rings tend to stretch out of shape after a few filter changes. This is the right size for the GE inline water filter I use. I usually cover them lightly with petroleum jelly when laying them, it keeps them supple better.

  • Regular price
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Don't waste your money

Good point: They're round. Cons: Compared to the original O-rings on the two existing filter housings, these O-rings are thin, light and the wrong size. In the case of a filter housing with an internal thread, the rings are too small in diameter and do not fit into the channel provided to accommodate the sealing ring. For a male filter housing, the rings are too small, they have to be stretched to fit, resulting in significant leakage. Bite the bullet and OEM product. However, Revain willโ€ฆ

Replace when you change the filter cartridge

I'm not sure if you noticed, but when you change the filter cartridge the black rubber ring usually stretches a bit. This can lead to water leakage. I will make sure to change this seal every time I change a cartridge. I keep my filters and o-rings in the box they came in so I can easily find both at the same time.

Pros
  • Water filtration and softener
Cons
  • Non-automatic

Buying bags of multiple O-rings isn't always the best deal.

I had a water filter on my main water before it goes to my water softener and then all my facets. Three years ago my well collapsed and before I knew it the mud destroyed my water softener, my main water storage tank and filled most of my water lines. None of these items were covered by my home insurance. I dug my well another 100 feet and pumped water 8-10 hours a day for three months. I had to buy a new storage tank, water pump, plumbing, wiring and water softener. I know there are threeโ€ฆ
