It works fine but doesn't come close to advertised disk space. I was only able to get a string of 30 regular sized lamps.

These lightweight storage spools work and live up to the hype, but if like me you have trouble converting measurements to actual measurements, you'll probably be surprised at how small they are. However, the smaller size allows for a manageable reel weight when fully loaded with light strings. They make storage a lot neater and easier, and you avoid the annual Christmas tradition of "giant ball of confused lights" that takes the fun out of decorating a Christmas tree. I would buy them again.

Love love love this item. I now have 3 strings in one. The spools are easy to assemble and when you take them off the spool to cut the tree at Christmas they unroll easily as long as you hold the inside handle in your hand. or attach it to a stepladder while you pull the rope off the spool. I would like another one. This greatly simplifies the lighting. It takes up little space compared to my previous methods of storing lights.

Be honest we all do it in January and in my case in June we dim the Christmas lights knowing full well that turning them back on won't be easy. It's more like they're being pulled halfway down and it's impossible to avoid the Christmas lights and this significant lack of enthusiasm results in a terrifying ball of lights.
