Waterproof Bearing Seal

I bought three of these bearings to upgrade and rebuild my front hub while chasing the Poulan Pro. The original bearings had a leaking metal shield (6203zz). New bearings have a rubber boot (6203-2RS). They fit perfectly and hopefully last longer. The original bearings don't appear to be built to last.

Pros
  • Ball Bearing
Cons
  • Wrinkled Pack

MADE IN CHINA on Ball Bearings

I order these bearings from Timken because they are a big company and make a lot of bearings, paid more for them but when they arrived "made in China" was in the box included. Next time I'll take the Japanese because they're the best. They're built into the pool motor, let's see how long they last. The OEM bearings were NSK and lasted 5 years. Should have bought these.

Pros
  • Deep Groove Ball Bearing
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Timken Bearings - Made in China! boo!

later I don't like the fact that Timken, an American company, has been making their bearings in China for decades. I bought Timken because of their reputation and paid a premium for their name. Silly me! When I received the bearings I found that they were made in China. I could buy the same bearing but without the Timken name for a third of the price!
