This beanie is designed to fit children of different sizes that will grow with the child if you use a small strap to adjust the back. At first it seemed too big for our 6 week old but after we adjusted it it fit perfectly. We live in Arizona and it blocks the sun really well. I love that it grows with our child and does well in the pool!
