💨 ACDelco GM Original Equipment 15-73952 Mode Door Actuator: Optimal Heating and Air Conditioning Control Panel Performance Review

I ordered what was supposed to be an exact HVAC door motor replacement for my 1994 Silverado C1500. I ordered them according to the information provided and they are WRONG to the point of being unusable! The connector pins are reversed or missing, and a slotted half-round bracket is attached to one motor that doesn't fit my truck. I've had this problem before. send her back

Firstly, this drive only controls the fan mode (e.g. dashboard ventilation, defrost ventilation, floor ventilation) and not the temperature. After removing the old drive under the driver's side, remove the panel from the new drive and install it first. After the plate is properly installed, attach the drive to the pin, and then tighten the mounting screws. Also, this is a genuine AC Delco part (despite other opinions). They outsource to other countries, including Korea.

It took me a while to install this part. Two issues with this: 1) Couldn't remove the bracket from the drive motor which made installation very difficult. 2) The drive motor is not running. I don't think it's possible to install this without removing the door drive gear from the motor. Also, I was able to spin the motor to the point where it didn't line up with the drive gear once installed. I had to open the engine case and manually set the transmission to the middle of the sweep. Installed in a 2003 Suburban. The drive appears to be of good quality, but it is not exactly the same as the original unit. The original drive was mounted with screws, the new drive just snaps into place. Cheaper production. We disassembled the failed drive and the large drive gear was plastic and cracked causing the gear to slip. Removing and installing this part is NOT easy due to the learning curve. UPDATE 1/23/20 I've been using one of these as a mode actuator and the other as a mix actuator for several months with no problems. No calibration loss in climate control app, excellent OEM product, made in Korea. UPDATE: 11/08/19: USED AS A MIXING DOOR OPERATOR.
