good replacement OEM

good replacement OEM. It was used on a 2006 Aveo when my key started getting stuck and wouldn't move the car from parking. The repair took about an hour and now everything works perfectly.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Speed

Direct replacement for 2006 Chevy Aveo

Part hard to find and get full PITA (under center console, inside shifter assembly) but this was a replacement that didn't fix reverse and couldn't remove the key from the ignition .

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Upgradeable

This helped the solenoids

The Chevy Aveo is notorious for failing this part. If you can't get the keys out or get out of the parking lot, this part will fix the situation. I'm comfortable and it took a full hour to swap them out. Not something to attempt if you are not good with tools.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Empty

Can't remove the key or leave the parking lot?

TL;DR: This part worked. I can pull out of the parking lot and pull the key out of my 2006 Aveo. The "Can't get out of parking lot, key can't be removed" issue appeared on my 2006 Aveo a few days ago when I wasn't home. Swelling. A little tip for the next victim: removing the 10A fuse in the radio will disable the lock in the steering column that prevents the key from being removed. You still have to stick a flat object in the parking lock and you don't have a radio or clock on your dash…

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Easy Repairability
