Total Disappointment in Computers and Accessories

Do you really want to know what disappointment in grinding is? Buy a Chromebook! Then try to access your long files in Dropbox. I'm a writer who saves novels to Dropbox and I bought a Chromebook for travel. The device itself is light and beautiful, but almost useless for long documents. There's an obscure way to sync Google Drive (which comes built into Google Chrome OS) and Dropbox, but it's definitely counterintuitive. If you enjoy learning new cybernetic tricks, you might enjoy this. I just…

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Performance
Cons
  • Modern

For Chromebook fans, one of the most persistent issues has been the lack of hardware power for users who actually push their computers to the limit - once, when they once If you have a dozen tabs open with half a dozen extensions, many Chromebooks can become noticeably slower. Previously the only option available was the $1,000 Pixel, which is a nice PC but way over budget for this type of device. Almost like a Mac, with 4GB of RAM, a full 14-inch HD display and a quad-core processor. Even the…

Cons
  • Functionality

First off, the Chromebook itself is excellent, one of the few budget models with 1080p and long battery life. It arrived in "like new" condition, although it has been refurbished (probably a return). This is a $179 bargain and deserves a 5-star rating for the previous reasons. However, anyone who is very picky or sensitive to (small) decoy and switch tactics online should be aware of a possible buying problem. restored model. There are two versions of this Chromebook: C5EX and C5FM. The…

Teacher's best friend on a budget

This is one of the best purchases I've made in years. As a Mac user for over 20 years, this is my first non-Apple computer and I absolutely love it. Since I already do all my work in Google Drive, this is perfect for me. For those of you who are less familiar with Google Drive, I can easily share and edit documents and PowerPoints with my colleagues. This is the best solution I've used for budget collaboration. However, be careful what you buy before you buy a Chromebook: it runs on the Chrome…

Like it a lot. Been using it for 2 years

I decided to write a review after using this Acer almost every day for 2 years. It is mainly used for email, browsing and Google Docs. I love it! Why? Big display; reliable (never breaks); USB and HDMI connections. I think the main reason I like it is that it's sturdy and I don't mind tossing it in and out of my backpack, whereas with the 1000MB Air I could be a lot more careful with it. Occasionally (once every 6 months) an app is needed that isn't running, but that doesn't matter to me. The…

Great for the price

Beautiful design! Super slim and light. The screen quality is perfect and matte, so no annoying glare! The only reason for 4/5 stars is the keyboard and processor. The keys on the keyboard are recessed too deeply to accommodate the slim/thin profile. It takes some getting used to. The processor on this Chromebook is one of the best you can get on a Chromebook at this price point (I did a lot of research), but you do notice a lag when you have more than 3 browsers open at the same time. When…
