BETTER FOR KIDS on cartridges and filters

These filters are a great idea for extra protection. A filter is not always needed, but when it is needed it should comfortably cover your mouth and nose. These type of disposable filter cartridges are VERY SMALL for my adult masks. The best-fitting adult sheet masks require a larger filter than this style, which appears to be a standard size. Best for small children.

Not breathable for safety reasons

These PM2.5 filters are virtually airtight. I tried pushing air through the filter but the resistance was extremely high (similar to pushing air through a layer of jeans). In other words, when this filter is in the mask, the air entering and exiting will most likely take the path of least resistance, passing through the mask area without blocking the filter and/or gaps around the mask, reducing efficiency significantly reduced. masks.

They're great for high-risk environments

I don't use them all the time, but whenever a family member walks into a high-risk environment like a doctor's office or a crowd, we use them. They definitely make your mask feel more snug, but I think it's totally worth protecting, especially since we have an immunocompromised child at home. We use them with a variety of cloth face masks that have filter bags and they fit almost all of them, even my youngest child's masks and she has a small face.
