Wouldn't charge my big LiPo but forgot.

Wouldn't charge my big LiPo but I forgot to short the other side to accommodate 100mah+ batteries and already soldered it. The LiPo also didn't seem to supply enough current.

Works good but weird company

Purchased this item for a project based on the parts list but later found I was only financially supporting the openly abandoned SJW company. I prefer my money to go to companies that don't use it to fund political programs. I will not repeat this mistake again.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Communication with Seller

Suitable for all lipo needs

Lady Ada always delivers and this product is no exception. My nephew does cross country running for his high school team and they train in a densely populated area so I made him a GPS tracker and pedometer/timer using this and another Adafruit Logic controller and they both work very well in the Field. I have never had a bad Adafruit product.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Very expensive

They look like they work for an hour or so and then stop.

Ordered two units, both tested with a brand new Adafruit battery (polarity checked before connecting both). Both LEDs will definitely light up slightly unless the battery and power are disconnected. A $14 waste and a potential fire hazard if left unattended.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • No insurance

Works great but I should have read the description better

5 stars because the board is very good in terms of size and functionality. However, I have a Trinket M0. The pinout doesn't match exactly. Looking back, I should have expected that since it was made by Pro. BUT, it actually works well. The Bat and Gnd pins correspond to M0, and the 5V sticks out of the mounting hole dead space. Connect this to USB pin M0 and everything works as intended, USB charging and power supply board when USB is disabled. Simple workaround.

So Adafruit did something really stupid and dirty here? Most lithium polymer batteries have a bracket that ensures the positive and negative terminals are in the right place, but they're reversed on this backpack. If you look at other micro sized lipo batteries you will see that the positive and negative values reverse with the power draw of these things. But when it comes to batteries sold by Adafruit, they have this configuration. Now let's assume you haven't fried this board because you canโ€ฆ

  • I'm Concerned
