Converters are great!

I have one of those floppy drive holes on my computer tower and I use their multimedia card reader. On my MB it is a USB 3.0 pin. So I had to downgrade to Reader 2.0 speed. For several months I was afraid to connect it because when I looked at the cables, the colors did not match the colors of the card reader cables. So I took a chance, hoping I wouldn't sear anything, and pocketed it. Well it worked fine. (Pooh!)

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • I will be silent

I have purchased this particular item and have purchased 2 other brands/sellers in the past . Each worked and served the purpose I needed, most recently for adding ports to a bay device. Numerous comments indicate that the cable cannot be easily removed from the USB 3.0 port on the motherboard, this was my experience with the previous two builds. The time will tell. Note that once installed, you will most likely never be able to disconnect the adapter cable from the motherboard connector…

Pros
  • USB cable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Not reusable for cables and connections

This product will work as intended if you never take it off. Was on the server for a few weeks with no problems. Wanted to take it off as I have new USB connectors and not only did it fall apart when I pulled it, I had to use pliers to pry the plastic base off of it. And don't just pull it, but actively fight it, even to the point of fear of breaking my board. I would have given 1 star but it worked as intended as long as I was online. It just can't be reused.

Pros
  • Cables and connections
Cons
  • There are problems
