They are really tight around the midfoot and are a nightmare if you have a high arch. I've tried wearing them alone a few times over the past few weeks, the fit of the strap is too snug and tight around the midfoot.

The stench can be smelled up to 10 feet away and is conservative. When the box got to my house I was wondering what that junk is, the rotten egg smell and of course it was those new sandals.
