I ordered several sizes. This pair fits well even though my waist is 34-35 inches. They are made for a waist size of 40-42 inches. The problem isn't so much in the waist as it is in the legs/the pope. They are not intended for athletes. They are made for people who like skinny jeans.

Ordered size XL and they are much smaller than Under Armor and Champion 9" boxers --- gave these to my son who usually wears large sizes and they fit him.
