The product was easy to assemble (step-by-step instructions included) and holds the Sonos speaker securely. Makes something, looks great and is cheap: A+++

I can only give 4 stars but honestly I think it's a great product given that the only other ceiling mount option is $150. The mechanism for adjusting the speaker angle is extremely temperamental and easy to remove (see the cautions on the product page and pay attention to the speaker angle in the pictures). 3 out of 4 of mine are broken but that's really easy to fix with an 8" or 11" zip tie. The product lacked enough vertical tension on maximum draws (yes, it could hit even faster). This is because the ridges are poorly defined and covered in paint. Horizontal voltage is ok. Bought 2. Obviously couldn't stand it from day 1. The second was able to hold the speakers for a week before also dying. I liked the design and it's sturdy. At first I wanted to exchange the defective one, but since both are now not working I will be returning both and trying a different product.

The mounting plate is bent which is not acceptable but we fixed it. The weight of the speaker is greater than a single screw can hold and as a result the speaker does not stay anchored at the desired angle but instead tips over under its own weight until the speaker hits the wall. We bought these to install Sonos speakers in our office after reading some bad reviews about Sonos mounts. They worked and we use them, but they had the same problem as Sonos. The screw on the neck is not strong enough to hold the hinge parts of the bracket when the speaker is in it. We were able to solve this problem by adding serrated washers to the screw mount and hooking the wire firmly to the beam to hold the speaker up and take the pressure off the mount.
