The watch disappoints in the main features

I bought this watch because I have been a big fan of Polar watches for many years. I upgraded from the M430, which measures heart rate and GPS distance fairly accurately with a random start delay. Vantage M was a big disappointment. The watch looks great and the battery life is fantastic, but it couldn't detect my heart rate while walking (told me over 200 a few times) or during exercise (kept my heart rate dropping and cutting out). The distance was also much shorter than the M430 and if you…

Fewer options than the old M430!?

The Vantage M has potential. There is accurate GPS and heart rate. My first run had some dips in heart rate but haven't since. I probably wasn't tight enough in the first run. Pretty easy to use (same basic button as M430 and other Polar GPS watches). The keys are more tactile when wearing gloves, which is a big plus compared to the M430. But there are also disadvantages. What I miss the most is the ability to change the color of the training view to black text on a light background. White text

  • The best in its niche

No precision compared to the strap

I have been a dedicated Polar user for many years as an athlete. I still use my Polar M400 with great success; However, I was really looking forward to getting rid of the strap after 15+ years. Below are some pros and cons I found: Pros1. I like the button layout as this is (or was) Polar's standard. So if you've used Polar, it will be much easier for you to adapt. 2. I'm not a fan of touchscreen watches. I train to practice, not to play with dials. I understand fitness enthusiasts who want a…

If you're on the fence - read this!

Let me start by saying that I have used FitBit, Garmin and Apple devices in the past. Most recently, I switched from the Apple Watch Series 5 to the Polar Vantage M. Overall I think this is a great sports watch. Apple is taking over smartwatches. But I needed a watch with a multi-day battery that would hold up better outdoors, especially when hiking, skiing, and hiking. Polar did a great job. A single charge lasts for 5-6 days of use, including sleep tracking, continuous heart rate monitoring…

Pros
  • Outstanding Design
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Overall I really like this heart rate monitor, the only downside is that it doesn't measure my heart rate correctly 100% of the time. I bought it to replace a very very very old Garmin. I think it's "fun" to be able to wear it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and track your activity + sleep, but that's not what I bought it for. I just had to keep track of my training and heart rate. Some positive points: I think it's a nice watch. The interface is easy to use and I love all the sport profiles…

Pros
  • Runners: Track speed, distance and distance while running; Triathlete: Easily switch between sports and record transition times
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
