Does what it's supposed to do

No instructions and won't turn on when plugged into a wall outlet but not a USB port. So at first I thought this thing wasn't working. Anyway, once I figured it out, the device seems to be working as it should. The plastic box itself is pretty basic and cheap, but as long as it does what it's supposed to do, what's the difference.

Need to recover files from a drive that Windows says won't boot? Try it.

Purchased this item to recover my work files from a laptop that recently became inaccessible when I spilled coffee on it which leaked through the keyboard onto the motherboard. I was able to EASILY recover all my files including my photos. Connecting the cable was easy. The transfer process was easy. Then I dug up an older (2011) drive and did the same. success again. How much will the computer store charge you for this?

Great adapter - works with all SATA and IDE drives!

Works great! A few notes: Many older IDE/PATA drives have a jumper to determine if the drive is master, slave, or cable. Some drives work fine without jumpers on the Drive Select pins, but I've had a couple of IDE drives that needed a jumper on the Cable Select pins so the AGPTEK adapter could see them. Also, some older 2.5" IDE drives required an external power supply plugged into the adapter - I think it supplements USB power if your USB port doesn't have enough power to get the drive running

The IDE hard drive is 25 years old. it was so easy!

I plugged it into a floppy drive, plugged in the power, plugged the USB into my laptop and the floppy drive was open in no time! No different than a USB stick! I've also used it on a SATA SSD with no issues. I have hard drives that are many years old, now I can test and recycle them!

Works simply and beautifully

This project is much needed to help a good friend. She replaced her desktop computer (someone helped her with it) but was nervous because she forgot to transfer some much-needed files from the old hardware. She also wanted to get rid of the old "box". I removed an old hard drive from her old computer and used this tool to connect it to my computer, which allowed me to print out a list of all the files left on it. your old hard drive.
