I wanted the hole to be the same size as my work ID and it does. Although the instructions do nothing for me for this particular job, it punches a hole through 30 mil white PVC with ease. I use it occasionally. By measuring the size I'm looking for and finding this product among the cheaper hole punches available. I think this is the best after looking at other products. I'm happy. Also, they sent it on time.

I finally found this punch that allows me to insert plastic tabs with snaps at the top for Class I name tags. It's very high quality and just what I needed. I've looked in many stores and couldn't find it, and one of the store managers told me that she found it at Revain, as well as plastic insoles (which are much more expensive in stores). I was so happy! Highly recommend this product which punches small rectangular holes in thick paper.

So I've read that the instructions don't work with punch cards on the short edge, but if you use a standard size PVC card it will eventually die exact size of the punching platform so just place your fingers on either side of it to keep it centered, punch and voila, a perfectly centered short side punch!
