From a distance they look like an ordinary surveillance camera. I had trouble getting the hood back on after putting the batteries in. I ended up hot glued the one that couldn't hold the hood in place. I suspect that in heavy rain, water will most likely seep into them since the battery compartment is not airtight. Very easy to install, just 3 screws and assembly. Mine keep blinking, but I'm under the impression there's a motion sensor that works. flash.

I bought these to simulate home security. I drilled them into the wood panels with a low power drill. Love the flashing LED, black body and the fact that they are solar powered. I put batteries in just in case and they seem to be using battery power instead of solar power. It was difficult to put the batteries in the camera as the solar panel cable was short and came loose when I removed the hood. Very happy they came in a pack of two for the front yard and backyard.

Can't be beat for the price. A cheap anti-theft device that would make most people think. I've been using them outside a remote cabin for over a year, despite the inclement weather and snow they still work great with a solar powered flashlight. UPDATE: Still working great after more than a year on the road! The light still flickers and it still has the original batteries that I put in over a year ago - the solar panel needs to work as intended.
