It took 5 layers but I have updated a pair of old DocMartins flats and am working with all my other leather goods - will probably need a new bottle sooner than later! The good thing is that I work with oils as a professional massage therapist and this oil is just as delicious, soothing and absorbs into my skin just as easily as the skin I work with. Love it!

GREAT stuff! I collect vintage cowboy boots from the 40's. This material is absorbed without leaving any residue or film. It doesn't smell and I don't even have to wash my hands afterwards; it soaks into my skin. Nourishes the skin and being all natural I don't have to worry about it ruining my boots. Showed it to my cobbler and he will take care of a bulk order. It is so good.

Used for a pair of boots most seen from nature. They climbed mountains, walked damp, wet grass, saw sugar quarries in Florida, and clambered over piles of horse manure. And all this without conditions for more than 3 years of abuse. The shoes look better after just one treatment. The front of the shoe is untreated while the back is conditioned. Had a slight darkening effect within 24 hours but returned to original color.

This is a great product and deserves a higher rating, however I have to consider the shipping and condition upon receipt. The bottle top clip is very easy to open and as a result it ruptured at some point during shipping and spilled about an ounce of product into the plastic bag it was in. trouble opening it. Maybe it's a defect or bad design, but in the end I lost part of the product I paid for. I'll write it off as a loss and not mess around with a refund.

In addition to regular polishes, I have recently added this product to my leather shoe care collection. I bought this specifically for a pair of Thursday boots but it can be used for other leather goods as well. When I applied the product, I could tell that it had a different level of care that shoe polish couldn't offer. I could see the skin thirsting for the product. I've been treating boots with different products for a long time. I usually use other brands but this one was at the top of every "top 5" list I've seen and I decided to try them on my new Danners - heavy old fashioned ones made out of thick genuine leather. . I've also used it on a pair of thinner leather boots. I don't know what else to say other than that it penetrates deep into the skin leaving a soft and oily feel but more waxy than oily.
