These sneakers will retain their durability even after long periods of wear. Leather and quality stand up to anything I can offer. Bad weather, rain, sun, heat, sand, whatever, and it all goes with honor. At first they are a bit stiff. This is because they have good leather and solid construction. Bought these to replace Allen Edmonds Eastport boat shoes which I bought over 3 years ago. The previous pair were great shoes and I would give them 5 stars. The only reason I threw them away was because the stitching on one toe came undone. AE does not restore these shoes. The color of the leather and laces is different from the previous set, not bad just different. The sole is exactly the same as the original (and it was very long). Almost as good as American. Based on some reviews I was expecting that they would not match the quality of my previous 3 pairs. It took several days to crack them. Therefore 4 instead of 5 stars. I think I will stick with these shoes if I need more.

As a regular customer of AE, I've always wanted a pair of AE boat shoes. I like the construction of the East Harbor. However, the skin is too hard. I remind you that after a short trip I have to put on "no show" socks and it takes 2 days to get rid of the blister. Believe me, it hurts when you want to wear this pair without socks - pumps should be worn without socks. I'm currently breaking in my shoes and I don't know how long it will take.
