The first thing I got was I didn't even open it when I saw the hair in the package and it looked dusty. I returned it and ordered another one. I opened the replacement which smelled like it was in a musty antique store. I'll leave a review in the washing machine right away. The material looks like a normal cotton sheet. Not sure if the mattress topper was too small to begin with, but after one wash it no longer fit my 7 inch mattress. Useless.

Just got mine and it smells so bad! I didn't even open the package fully, I just unzipped it and almost fell off my feet. The worst moldy, pungent, cheesy smell imaginable. Surprised and so disappointed. I read in a review that it still smells bad after washing so I don't think I'll keep it to myself. I expected 100% cotton to have a fresh, clean smell. It only smells. It's not a chemical smoke smell, it's more like this thing needs a bath and some deodorant.

Fits perfectly on my Tuft & Needle mattress. The instructions say to vacuum every 6 months but I haven't had it that long. I bought this because I recently moved out of a moldy house and bought it while visiting relatives. I wanted to protect it from mold spores when moving to a new apartment. Not sure if this is effective as I have no symptoms related to contaminated items. It's nice on my sheets so I don't mind. Wasn't really able to test it for spills, pollen etc otherwise.

I have been trying to switch to more natural products in my home. All I wanted was a pure cotton mattress pad made in the USA. You can't find that in stores anymore. They all carry the same products from China, repackaged under brand names, expensive junk.
