This ruler is good for my use but not very heavy. For other purposes I find it too flexible. However, I use it for the straight edge of Christmas wrapping paper. Then I cut the wrapping paper with my precision knife instead of scissors. So far it works GREAT! Although I have a firm grip on it, the cork on the back prevents it from slipping and moving while cutting.

When I bought this I didn't see that it was flexible and it wasn't exactly what I wanted but it wasn't worth sending back. I use it and it works fine. I regularly wet it and hose it down and so far the numbers are fine. Cork backing is probably useful on paper, but I only bought it custom made.
