Great alternative to expensive brands.

I bought these as a less expensive alternative to well known (and usually very expensive) brands of specialized woodworking jigs and tools. I was very pleasantly surprised. They're dead at exactly 90 degrees and are fully in line with the quality you'd expect for twice the price.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Can do

More affordable than the other red brand

Love these other red brand and understand why they are so expensive. I just can't justify it for my needs. This is a good alternative. I tested these squares with my digital meter and they were both within 0.1 out of 90. It may not work for everyone, but they're good enough for my needs. Would have given 4.5 stars if that was possible.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Some difficulty

Accurate and good quality

I originally considered some plastic positioning squares but most of them had mixed reviews. I stumbled across these and although they are more expensive than the plastic ones they are also cheaper than some of the other more well known brands. I bought 2 sets of 2 (4 total) and am very happy with them. They appear to be fairly accurate and well made.

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • tradable

Accurate and easy to use

I have used this product 6 times since I received it about a week ago - it is superb! Clear 90 degree angles easily accept clamps with perfect alignment. It's strong enough to really twist the clamps without deforming, yet small enough to stay out of the way of drills and screwdrivers when applying corners. Thanks guys this is perfect!

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Everything is fine

The old version works fine

When I ordered it a few days ago, there were two versions. I can't remember which one I had, but it was the old one as the current one was labeled "New Version". I can't confirm how well the new version works, but I've seen some conflicting reviews, just wanted to point that out. That's why I chose the old version. I measured mine against the famous 90 degree square I use to line up my table saw and it was accurate. I then compared them to each other, inside and out, for both and they were fine

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Good but not great

Their small size fits my needs better than the larger ones

Works very well. I ordered them last fall and used them to assemble and glue together some jewelry boxes and tray inserts I made for Christmas gifts. It is very convenient if the clamping surface is square. There is a notch on the outside of the box to squeeze out the glue so you don't have to worry about sticking to the squares (which can be a problem when using epoxy for example). You can also pinch the inside of the assembly, although there is no extrusion cutout on that side. They areโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Functionality

Excellent squareness and very useful

I'm a bookbinder and these are great for keeping things straight and even. I was concerned with some of the feedback that they had received an unsquare product. I tested them with the straightest ruler and found them to be square both inside and out (using the pencil test). I've only checked them superficially for vertical squareness, but they're more than adequate for my needs.

Pros
  • Clamps
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good product: Angle brackets

I have them. and having read reviews that they are not square. all four checked. Three of them go perfectly with my Red Bird square. (guaranteed to be square within +/- 0.008 over 7 inches) and one of them showed a bit of "daylight" near the top. Well within what is required for woodworking. If you need more precision, spend big and get Starrett tools. Buy some inexpensive 4" Irwin clamps to use with this. They hold the square of my current project very well.

Pros
  • Angle brackets
Cons
  • Concise instructions
