I shampooed one of these and the wood turned purple. Doesn't really matter, but be aware. I like wooden soap holders over plastic soap holders.

My husband and I use ground soap bars to reduce the use of plastic and I needed a soap dish for each of our soaps. It works great and is aesthetically pleasing. Very good product.

Although there are drainage slots, the firewood lies directly on the countertop and the water has nowhere to go. The one I used today broke when I noticed all the drain slots were clogged with black and gray mold. Pooh.

I've only had them a few months and they're already falling apart. It looks like the glue used is not waterproof. I would say they would work well for decoration or for soaps that are rarely used. Certainly not for everyday use.

What you see is what you get: a thoughtfully designed bamboo soap dish. natural looking; has holes for water drainage. The only problem for us is that if it just stays in the water for a long time, like any piece of wood, it will mold. If you let it dry and leave it in the sun, it can prevent mold growth. I haven't tried Clorox on him yet, that might work.

At first I thought it was a great soap dish. So much so that I bought another set. After a week of use, each bowl is covered in black and green mold. I've never heard of this happening to bamboo. And that hasn't happened with any other soapbox. Avoid this product. I used a water hose on this panel, the green mold came off but not the black.

Elegant, well-made soap dishes that give my garden bathroom a nice spa feeling. They have a smooth surface. I think I'll add some semi-circle legs to protect them from moisture so they last longer because they're so attractive! Edit: Unfortunately they started to get moldy within a few weeks so I just threw them away. They look great for setting up around the house or in a rarely used guest bathroom, but for everyday use? nope

I like the look but it doesn't work in the shower. Of course, the soap won't get wet, but more soap and water will accumulate underneath than if the soap were standing alone. Part of the problem may be that this bowl isn't high enough for air to circulate and dry underneath. The place where the dishes are placed gets dirty (water and soap) and the dishes leave a strong smelly residue. I wouldn't recommend this for a shower and without a base I have no plans to use it on a countertop either…

I don't give many 5 star reviews but I love these. They are very simple but very functional. I specifically chose these after reading reviews from others that could rot and/or fall apart. This one is made from a single piece of bamboo so it looks like it can't fall apart. It also appears to be mold resistant, although admittedly I haven't had it that long. It's simple but elegant. I would have preferred a slightly darker color for my decor but it's just the natural color of bamboo so can't…
