Handy multiport in computers and accessories

This 9-in-1 multiport from Revain Basics works well This is a USB-C docking station and is very handy because it has many connection options: HDMI , VGA, USB 3.0 A x2, Ethernet, TF card slot, SD card slot and Type-C female x2. Works as described, no problems. Very handy - provides additional connectivity to my son's MacBook Pro.

A NOTICE. This product works (only) with a PC that supports Display Port Alternate Mode (Alt Mode).

This product works (only) with host computers that support Display Port Alternate Mode (Alt Mode). since your USB port must already be able to send DisplayPort video data to this adapter. So if you only have a plain USB 3.1/USB C "USB Data Only" port, you will not be able to view video output ports on this product. I didn't like that this important use case/compatibility requirement information was not included in the product description at all. I ended up having to download the PDF manual and…

Works OK - Notebook Accessories

As far as I can tell this docking station has worked perfectly. I didn't check VGA but other ports worked. It doesn't look particularly fancy, but with this type of device I'm mostly interested in whether it works properly, what it does.

Very Disappointed - Docking Stations

I don't know what's going on but the USB ports are intermittent and the device is getting too hot to service - I've tried this about 5 times now and it always gets too hot to use . Must return as we cannot safely use it.

This is a USB-C docking station and it is very convenient as it has many connection options: HDMI, VGA, USB 3.0A x2, Ethernet, TF card slot, SD card slot and Type-C female x2. Works as described, no problems. Very handy - provides additional connectivity to my son's MacBook Pro.

This product works (only) with host computers that support Display Port Alternate Mode (Alt Mode). Send Displayport video data to this adapter. So if you only have a basic USB 3.1/USB-C "USB Data Only" port, you will not be able to view video on the output ports of this product. Didn't like that this is a major use. Chassis/compatibility information wasn't listed in the product description at all. I ended up having to download the PDF manual and go through many pages to find the answer to my #1
