Broke on first use.

This umbrella was bought over the top rated Repel umbrella because it had a wind flap so I expected it to keep out both the wind and the rain. But that's not the case. Rain in Providence, Rhode Island, and a normal gust of wind, nothing out of the ordinary, flipped it over and ripped a rib from its mount, leaving it sticking out of the vent as shown. On the plus side, the gentleman from customer service shrugged that I had to send the broken unit back as normal Revain policy and sent me a…

I bought this after reading Wirecutter's "Best Umbrella" review. First impressions were positive as the umbrella looks and feels sturdy and the mechanism works flawlessly. I like that it's compact and fits in the bottom of a backpack. It's still intact and fully functional, but useless when it rains in Florida. Okay, my feet get wet because it's not very big, but if a gust of wind knocks it over, it doesn't work as intended, despite ventilation. If there is a light shower and no wind, then…

Buyers be careful. cheap stuff

I have only used this umbrella a few times and it has never worked well. This is an automatic umbrella, but when lifted, it didn't fully open. It's okay, it didn't really bother me. But after only 3 or 4 uses I noticed that one of the "arms" didn't bend so one side was flat. Yesterday I went into action and found that the whole arm was broken! Look carefully at the photo"metal" shabby! The?! How does that even happen? Anyway waste of money and the return took too long. I will never buy this…

Durable umbrella. revenge You've done it again!

Well what can I say? This umbrella is quite durable and the automatic opening and closing mechanism is fantastic. The frame of the umbrella is also durable. However, it is a bit heavy for an umbrella when weight is an issue. It's definitely a steal at $17 and you should buy it! My only two complaints are that the wrist strap feels a little cheap and the "RevainBasics" logo on the velcro isn't pretty to look at. I love RevainBasics products, they are the best value for money but this logo is…

Excellent Umbrella Umbrella

I live in So. California where I don't use my umbrella that much. Bought this umbrella to take to New York for Thanksgiving weekend. So glad I did. It fits perfectly in my backpack. The test was a shower on Monday evening. Powerful gusts of wind dug tunnels through 56th Street. This umbrella was so strong that a couple of times I thought I was going to blow up. Other people's umbrellas fell over and broke. On the corner of 56th and 6th Avenues was a trash can full of broken, abandoned umbrellas

Compact and semi-automatic but the handle is tiny

I needed a compact umbrella when carrying things to/from the house. The 38-inch canopy is sized and weighted to provide protection without being bulky. My title says "semi-automatic" because the button doesn't completely reverse the opening action. Initially, the button lengthens the stem and expands the dome. Pressing the button again collapses the dome but not the stock. Pressing the button when the dome is in the collapsed position and the shaft is extended will not reopen the dome. This…
