bad dimming; long for "short neck "

6 packs returned due to poor shading (didn't get very bored). And they're a bit longer for supposedly 'short-necked' PAR30S bulbs (believe the 3.9-inches on the picture), but we'd probably like them sticking out of the canister a bit if their dimming wasn't so low would. Instead we used 6 Westinghouse PAR30S bulbs which have GREAT dimming control down to very low light levels.

Pros
  • Not suitable for California shipments
Cons
  • High price

Everything is great except the bulb has failed

Positive: light output and color temperature seem to meet the specifications despite one significantly lower consumption of 9.5 watts compared to around 11 watts with the same brightness. The bad: A lightbulb went out on day one and of course was the hardest to reach, had to climb a long ladder and make a high climb to replace it. Not a big problem as I still have two spares in the box of six.

Pros
  • With an extended lifespan of 25,000 hours, the lamp lasts more than 22 years (based on 3 hours of use per day)
Cons
  • Doubtful

Everything works right out of the box

These bulbs replaced some soft white Philips bulbs that failed in our track lighting system. The price was significantly lower than the Philips brand and they were the same size, which was an important consideration. All of them worked perfectly when turned on with a dimmer. The only difference was the brightness, the Philips bulbs were a soft white like these replacement bulbs. However, the replacement bulbs were significantly brighter than the ones they replaced and I ordered them correctly…

Pros
  • Delivers 750 lumens of light instantly without having to wait for full brightness
