I bought these lamps for my living room as I have two three way lamps but only single ones. I wanted something light and they had good reviews but still wasn't sure what I was getting. As it turns out, 5000K daylight bulbs remind me of new car headlights. At night you see these headlights on new cars, which look bluish instead of yellowish like the old headlights. I've always used vortex bulbs. And you need plenty of light at night to read, cook, exercise, etc. I bought the lightest white for my dark host which is now an art room. I go there mostly at night and wanted something that would make my old lamps brighter. They work amazingly for this purpose. I like bright white light for the room.
