Very light, fast and works great. Above average cable length. The hub has a very small blue activity indicator, an improvement over my previous Anker hub. It's no longer too bright or distracting. Thin enough to throw in my laptop bag and when I use my desktop I attached it to the monitor stand with a piece of Velcro. It would be great if Anker included a small Velcro strip. I didn't try to strain the energy drain. Booted 2 portable hard drives, a USB and a keyboard/mouse button with no issues.

On use I had a 16GB stick and a 2TB external hard drive attached to it, which was then connected to my Mac. Eventually 2 devices got mixed up and the 2TB drive was overwritten with the contents of the 16GB flash drive (Approximately TB of photos were lost. I've never seen a Mac swap devices when the same devices were in separate USB ports. My computer now has three USB ports. I bought this so I have seven. However, when I plugged it in, all of my other USB ports stopped working, leaving me with only four working ports from the device. When I only connected the mouse and keyboard, my keyboard stopped working at times. The instructions state that "connected devices must not exceed a total current of 900 mA". I am very happy with this purchase. I just got a new machine and it didn't have all the connections I'm used to. I use an additional monitor, external drive, wireless mouse and headphones at the same time. Since the HP Pavilion only has 2 USB ports, I needed additional ports.
