They are quite transparent. They're fine for wearing around the house or to sleep in, but we don't let my daughter wear them outside (and we're not particularly puritanical about our idea of modesty lol, so it's pretty clean). However, they are ideal for a child who sleeps hot, very light and made of soft fabric.

I bought it mainly to wear under my daughter's uniform shirt. She's 4 years old and quite thin so I ordered size 3-4 and they fit perfectly, I've already washed them twice and in my case they didn't shrink too much, I like the quality, they're very soft and light .
