New in everything, though.

Well I'm new to the amateur radio and radio world but this has made a noticeable difference in my hand and added a bit of clarity, at least for me.I don't have an RF tester or range finder or anything so can't say for sure, but I would definitely recommend spare rubber duckies (antennas).

Pros
  • 8" specially tuned to transmit and receive on the commercial bands (optimized for 155/455MHz).
Cons
  • is too dumb

Who the hell is testing them?!

None of the antennas tested below 3:1 on any band. This was supposed to be for commercial bands and I wanted to use it in my dugout bag for my boat, but at sea frequencies (within advertised) I have an SWR over 5:1 and flat dB. As I said, it works better with a piece of wire. POS is a compliment.

Pros
  • Simple and convenient return process. 90 days warranty and 30 days no return required.
Cons
  • High price

As good if not better than Nagoya

I recently bought a Nagoya na-701 antenna, it works perfectly. I bought them simply because I was curious how they would compare to the Nagoya. I have checked the SWR of these two antennas (2 sets) and the Nagoya and found that the readings are consistently lower than the Nagoya, with 2m readings around 1.0-1.8 across the band and 70cm -Readings around 1.8-2.0 across the full band range and even up to GMRS frequencies. These numbers are quite acceptable for a cellular antenna. Then I did aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • New version - may require a rubber grommet (included) and has an extended antenna cover to protect the SMA connector base from the elements.
Cons
  • Negative is present

Would not use on Baofeng uv-5r

at both 2m (144MHz) and 70cm (440MHz) for all frequencies, the SWR readings didn't drop below 2.0 at all and some even reached 7. I would look elsewhere for an antenna for uv-5r.a retevis rt3s, you could use it anywhere between 148-153 mhz but that's about it. Again, I would look elsewhere.

Pros
  • . Our antenna + Ham Radio = A pair made in heaven. I don't remember
Cons
  • but there was something
