Antenna Motorola 764 870MHz NAR6595A KCTIN Review

The image included in the description contained the Motorola logo but the actual product did not. I thought I'd buy a Motorola part. Second, the description stated that this would work with my radio (APX-6000), which did or didn't work.

Plug and play, removed the old foot length antenna that kept poking me in the back and screwed this on. Pretty much it is. There are no problems with reception quality degradation inside buildings or underground. Just make sure to write your name on it or your friends will take it!

Bought because the walkie-talkie rides on my patrol belt and Spetsnaz vest. We had a tower in one part of town that was out of service and I was the only one who could speak. I thought it might be the radio but after I put my long whip back on I couldn't speak so this little one came in and I came back. Excellent purchase.

Antenna keeps detaching throughout the workday. The original antenna it replaced stayed stuck all day but kept hitting my armpit. This one doesn't move me at all, but went off the radio a few times before I realized it. I've gotten into the habit of checking for leaks several times per shift. I find it free about 1/2 times. I would drop Loctite on it but Motorola will void the warranty if found so I'll just do my best as is.

Bought this antenna to replace the unusually long antenna on a Motorola APX4000. The product was delivered quicker than expected, love the look and the freedom I have as the antenna is a fraction of the length of the original. But. The product did not offer the same range as the original. I use my radio from a repeater for about 4 miles radius which is not that far, after about 2 miles the short antenna stops transmitting forcing me back to my original long antenna.
