Much better than the OEM thermal actuator for my '97 Suburban. It does require the suggested wiring harness and some rewiring work, but once plugged in, it runs much faster, even in cold weather.

My Silverado 08 did not electronically switch between 2WD and 4WD. I did some research and the drive was the likely culprit. The swap took about 15 minutes and now it shifts faster than the original. Great price and easy repair.

5 minute replacement job. Use large pliers to lock the channels. Dismantled, unscrewed, screwed in again and plugged in again, all very easy! Be sure to check the operation of the transfer case. Maybe it's a switch on the dashboard. To date there are no problems.

Works great! Installed on a 1992 Chevy K2500. It engages 4WD and I don't have to drive forward to engage it like I had to with the old one and it engages 4WD MUCH faster than the stock drive! Wiring harness and drive fit well and are straight. I didn't splice the wire coming from the transfer case as I didn't see the need to break the wire when you could just splice it to the hot connector. Be very careful when connecting to the drive unit as the clamp may break if not lined up EXACTLY. And you need that clip or it will dangle and come loose.
